Education & Community Engagement

Jamie Allen has decades of experience connecting communities through the power of music. From developing award winning education programs to creating innovative community concerts and partnerships, both in the U.S. and Mexico, Allen knows how to create meaningful artistic connections for people from all walks of life. He has worked with major orchestras and opera companies; schools, school districts, and universities; local and state governments; and a wide variety of community-based arts and social service organizations.
Allen’s national leadership experience includes serving as the co-chair of the Education & Community Engagement committee for the League of American Orchestras, and as a founding member of Equity Arc, which provides specialized mentoring support for young BIPOC musicians and helps institutions take meaningful steps toward equity and inclusion.
Allen also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Recorder Society, and co-chairs its committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Life, destiny, music, and God have given me the opportunity to meet people with a truly great social conscience. Jamie Allen is one of those people. I have witnessed, first-hand, the unparalleled organizational work he has done with the Young Musicians program in Dallas, which has impacted the lives of so many children and youth living in areas which are otherwise largely neglected.
